The completion of Autoroute 30

Jean-Leman Segment in the Eastern section – All authorizations have been obtained

The Order-in-Council authorizing the project was finalized on June 14, 2006 by the Conseil des ministres du Québec.

This Order-in-Council, which represents the final authorization that was required in order to make the Jean-Leman segment a real MTQ project, echoes the recommendations that were put forth by the Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement (BAPE), which released its investigative report on this segment on February 20, 2006.

It is important to remember that, among the options considered, the commission deemed that “the trajectory recommended by the Ministère would be a compromise that would minimize the impact on the farming milieu and on the development of the urban perimeter of the town of Candiac.”

In order to avoid having the Jean-Leman segment recognized as the new urban boundary, the commission is of the opinion that no interchange should be added near rang Saint-André: “the only on- and off-ramps that should be built are those that are already planned at the boundaries of the project by the Ministère des Transports.”

The Jean-Leman segment is now on the drawing board at the MTQ!
