Route 236 – Phase 1
The new route 236, which has been relocated west, will extend approximately 2.5 kilometres between route 132 and the future A-30 interchange in Beauharnois.
The first phase of the work to relocate route 236 in order to bypass the Beauharnois residential district began in August with preparatory work. At the end of this $6 M phase which is slated for summer 2008, the first kilometre of the new portion will open to traffic. More specifically, it will provide access to the Beauharnois hydroelectric plant, and will be used by the private partner to access the east abutment of the bridge spanning the Beauharnois Canal.
